CANADA ELECTIONS ACT

Coming into Force

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 577 of the Canada Elections Act (S.C., 2000, c. 9), that the necessary preparations for the bringing into operation of this Act have been made and that this Act comes into force on the day on which this notice is published.

Consolidation

Pursuant to subsection 554(2) of the Canada Elections Act (S.C., 2000, c. 9), notice is hereby given that copies of the Act have been printed for distribution to returning officers, and that all forms and instructions affected by the Act have been corrected and reprinted.

Inflation Adjustment Factor

Pursuant to section 414 of the Canada Elections Act (S.C., 2000, c. 9), notice is hereby given that the inflation adjustment factor that shall be in effect for the period commencing September 1, 2000, and ending March 31, 2001, is:

110.5 or 1.017
108.6

Amendments to the Lists of Provincial Acts Specified in Schedule 2 to the Canada Elections Act

Pursuant to subsection 46(2) of the Canada Elections Act (S.C., 2000, c. 9), notice is hereby given that Schedule 2 to the said Act is amended, by adding the following names of the Provincial Acts under the headings hereafter mentioned, as follows:

(a) under the heading New Brunswick, the following Act:
Elections Act, S.N.B., c. E-3

(b) under the heading Manitoba, the following Acts:
The City of Winnipeg Act, S.M. 1989-90, c. 10
The Local Authorities Election Act, C.C.S.M., c. L180

(c) under the heading Newfoundland, the following Act:
Elections Act, 1991, S.N., 1992, c. E-3.1

(d) under the heading, Northwest Territories, the following Act:
Elections Act, R.S.N.W.T., c. E-2

And by adding the following heading and Provincial Acts, as follows :

Nunavut
Nunavut First Elections Act, R.S.N.W.T., c. E-2
Vital Statistics Act, R.S.N.W.T., c. V-3
